Today's picture of the day of course comes with a story time.
Today's picture of the day is once again not a picture from today.
And comes to us all the way from Springfield Oregon.
First a little bit of background
I lived in Springfield Oregon for six years starting in 1999.
Sometime after I moved away---- The Matt Groening
announced that Oregon was the Springfield from the Simpsons.
It was long debated because every single state houses a town named Springfield.
Many people always thought this because Matt went to college in the basically connected city of Eugene.
So now it is celebrated in Springfield!
The voice of Lisa Simpson came to the town and put her hand and fingerprints in some concrete down town. And there are murals all over town to find connected to the Simpsons.
It is like a huge scavenger hunt!
It actually took some time to track it down ---because apparently this couch has moved around A lot!
Outside the building housing this couch.
Today I only am going to show a few of the MANY Simpsons murals.
Of course the two towns offer an amazing amount of art in murals.
On that note I have photographed similar across this great country.
Just not any Simpsons art before.
While I was in Oregon last winter I got lucky enough to see not one BUT two Simpsons couches!
I will soon picture ALL the many amazing Simpsons murals I got to see here and a bunch of Bigfoot sightings too
I soon learned about a second such couch!
This one is in the middle of no where ----inside a pizza shop.
There is a nearby fish hatchery and Dam and such so of course made a day trip out of going to picture the 2nd couch.
And it sounds like the couch has moved a time or five also.
The pizza joint used to be in town.
And of course Homer is holding a pizza box.
Back seating room behind the Great couch is full of Simpsons collectables
Also in the restaurant
And a bit disturbing actually.
That is a fish he is holding by the way.
Again I spotted Big Foot all over while in Oregon.
And hope to make a post just of such sightings soon.
Most all look better than this guy---that may need a good dusting.
Another very rare sighting I found past the Pizza Place.
Especially one that still works.
Only people my age and older can instantly spot what is wrong with this pay phone....
And now for just a few of the Simpsons murals for today.
I love how the handicapped parking sign hovers over Homers head
This is actually the very first mural I found
On my across town mural hunt.
And it actually took multiple trips to spot them all.
I pictured him at Comicon in Phoenix years ago.
In front of a coffee shop in Eugene actually.
Cheers!
But it is all Beautiful.
Especially for someone that has zero art skills.
I draw stick figures and things like this....
Cheers for today.
