Today's picture of the day And a close 2nd place picture. Yesterday the Heavens finally opened up and rained and rained hard! This side of Tucson has been seeing clouds and wind and lighting almost every day but very little rain. Not yesterday and my yard was soon a flowing little river.
I even took video because the large mountain just outside my front door was almost not visible. Anyways the rain of course dropped the temperatures into the 70's for a minute. Almost chilly considering the day before it was 106 here in the land of the sweating sun. After the rain I went out and got some pictures around my yard. The vast different amount of vegetation in the open desert always surprises me. On this day the same type of flowering cactus where all hugely different in there color! All my pictures from the yard can be seen on my FB pages and I am sure I will have a new Exploring blog out soon

Another example of simple Beauty.
Now back to my yard a few days ago.
Each of the same type of cactus was at a different stage of flowering
And a different stage of Beauty
Colors ranging as much as each and every Arizona sunset.
And maybe each cactus I came across sharper than the last one.
I have talked before
About how I feel everything in Arizona wishes to eat, harm, or kill you!
Even the grass is sharp in this state.
Again fresh water droplets if you stare at the flowers hard.
As usual I just kept taking pictures on this fine day!
Found this in the middle of the yard months ago.
Have not yet tried to plug it in to see if the lights still work by chance.
I find random metal pieces and square nail bases and Kool looking rocks all the time.
We are almost done with this little nature hike

Because each and every day with the Monsoons--that I love we get heavy wind
rain or both

With my new job I have multiple days off in a row--and once I finally receive my first paycheck---I started at the end of a pay period of course, I plan to take day trips on my days off work. Exploring and of course picture taking. Hopefully these will get better as time goes on and expand a bigger radius of country---maybe even traveling in my RV ---when I can afford two new batteries to start it.
