Desert Snow Day January 2019!

Since yesterday and beyond in Tucson & Phoenix say yet another record breaking heat in outside temperatures.    Today did too it seems   with 100 reported at the Tucson Airport.    In fact both towns have seen heat records shattered for this time of year-14 out of 15 days in a row now.   So in another attempt to Kool us off!   I think maybe looking at such images eventually makes my mind think it is not so hot outside.   Maybe.   This is in 2019 in January   when we had a rare snow day in the open desert.     And I ran into the most snow I have seen in Southern Arizona.   This is just off I-10 Highway  near the Marsh Station exit and on a stretch of The Arizona Trail.
Maybe posting all of the pictures here will make me feel like I need to put a jacket on!    This is another Exploring blog post   where picking The Picture O The Day was extremely hard for me?
Let me know if you think I picked the right one   in the comments   below.

So this day actually started out in Oro Valley
where along those hills a good deal of snow could be seen.
I was working at a golf course restaurant and they were originally  going to close for the day
Something about white golf balls and white snow.
But we stayed open for the day    and it quickly became the busiest we had all year.
People were even tying to sled on the hills on the golf course.
After work I could only find a dusting of snow across Tucson  as above.
Cheers!

As it started to cloud up again
and appear that it might snow again I headed to the Marsh Station highway exit.
On the back roads I was the only fool around and
played on the slushy roads a little bit.
I grew up in Wyoming and have seen enough snow for a lifetime or two
But snow in the open desert is a whole new ball game.
And beyond Beautiful!
Plus honestly with this heat lingering here    I would love for so snow to fall I think.

I am a trained professional
Self proclaimed
But DO NOT take pictures while you are driving.

Also do not take pictures while you are standing in the middle of the road.
No one else was out as I said before though.
If you are new with my pages     I like to take pictures with my current vehicle also.
After I realized I have no pictures at all of my first few cars.
If you scroll my pages    you will see a lot of vehicles in the background.

Another helpful sign right there.

Winter Wonderland in the middle of the desert.

First stop by the bridges I just featured in my Fall colors Exploring blog.

Brrrrr!

Back to the car for a bit.

Again  do not take pictures like this!

2ND stop    Trail head.

Might be the only time you see me in a coat in Arizona.
I usually have hoodies    if that.

Not going to lie    it was chilly out there.

As usual I had the right shoes on

As I said snow in the open desert is like no place else I have ever seen.

Another adventure   where I loved pretty much every single picture I took on this day.
We are almost done here though

This is actually from the trail
Zoomed back to the Highway.

OK   I was mistaken   I was not the only person out here.
But I never actually saw another person on this fine  but chilly day.

Where the trail goes under the Highway.
I do not like snakes at all but this is really Kool!

And before we go    a couple of pictures from Benson AZ

Thank you for stopping by this little page of mine!
