Reserved In An Empty Lot & Fire Pit Finally!

 

A few days ago before it got to hot outside  I got in a little Exploring in South Tucson.

At the old Greyhound racing track. 

I have been here before   but no they are tearing the building down.  

Like much of the history of Tucson.

From the outside I would imagine this was an Amazing place inside.  

I have never been inside.   Although I thought I would be able to sneak in on this trip.

I was not. 

Just like the very near old motel building that keeps burning down some how.   

I would bet  and have heard that it was a very classy place inside back in its day.   

I also of course have pictures of that building    the motel  

And will share more of both     very soon here.

But I still like the shot a lot

and today it is My Picture O The Day!

I of course got pictures all around and of the other smaller buildings on the property.

Here I am standing in the huge main parking lot. 

Like I said   more of these pictures coming very soon!   But not today.

not to say they will not win on another day....

Before we go on today    this is from the old motel I was talking about just above. 

It has burned at least five times in the last three years and at this point I really wonder what is left to burn.    It is always a huge debate if it the owner of this place causing the fires  looking for insurance cash  or the homeless living here  that start the fires

and the last few times it lit on fire I got pictures.

This was the last time    a few months ago.

The last time I have heard about that is. 

And I snuck around behind the building.

Everything burned and this Bible on a palm tree stump.

It is one of my favorite pictures for many reasons.  

Soon after this hot I had to leave because the sun was about to set     and the many many homeless people in the area where starting to migrate back to this pit. 

Fire Finally!

So I live in the open desert in an RV and have a fire pit.

A fire pit I have not been able to use for  months and months 

because this time of year in Southern Arizona   it gets really windy each and every day   and when it is not windy it is raining.

As you can see I finally got to use it the other night!

Because what we all really neat in the desert heat  is more heat!

As I was gathering wood and such to burn some day   

I got this old bird house   

and thought it would be fun to picture it in flames. 

This does not need to be an Exit either
