So a couple of days back before I went to visit my Beautiful wife in the hospital I grabbed some lunch and stopped at the near by Reid Park.
I have defiantly been here before.
Tucson has many many Amazing parks
But this may easily be the most Beautiful park
With a rose garden and covered parking and waterfalls and ducks and turtles and a train you can ride and ponds and more.
Maybe best of all the park is basically connected to Tucson zoo!
Please check out past Exploring blogs on this very page from the Awesome zoo and this park.
Not sure whom this is because all of the signs are now blank.
Maybe Mr Reid?
Just up from here is a big covered area for concerts.
Huge And Always enjoyable rose garden
Simple Beauty!
This was almost my picture of the day today.
Almost
But any time I see water here in the open desert I get overly excited
Took a few pictures here of the highlights.
Sunbathing??
This is a huge Park.
Golf course beside this
and than of course the Zoo.
More old wood.
Here is where the waterfalls are into the main large pond.
Close up!
What a view!
I am surprised how many large attractions in and around Tucson have trains you can ride on.
Bad view
but this duck has a Mohawk
I actually found this several years back
Or at least learned about it fully.
Our son was just entering his ten month hospital stay to fight cancer and more.
His biological father flew into Tucson the first week he was in the hospital and with The Covid restrictions only one visitor was supposed to be in a room at a time. But my wife was in a wheelchair so someone was allowed to push her to the room and stay.
One of the first days I drove them to the hospital I was for some reason drawn to drive here.
This is a while huge sculpture about surviving cancer.
From someone that went through tons of radiation and survived.
He than made this sculpture complete with inspirational plagues on the journey through and out of the fight. And than passed away from cancer a few years later.
The only reason I knew all of this is that than there was a large plaque explaining the whole story and explaining the sculpture fully. I could not find this said plaque on this day for the life of me.
Our son went through ten extra long months in the hospital doing Chemotherapy and radiation. And than one glorious day he was let out of the hospital 100 % cancer free.
Three months later they did a body scan and the cancer had returned with a full vengeance.
It was now everywhere in his body including his lungs.
He was only 23 when he passed
but old enough to be an Amazing man and gentlemen.
Few notes here
I could easily fill this and the rest of my Blog pages about how Great he was.
And I actually started this post yesterday morning got clear to this section right here about cancer and had to stop and clear up my mind and thoughts.
And am finishing up this afternoon actually on the First of November
How?
You can just see the main art in bright yellow here.
I believe I got all of the following pictures with no traces of the homeless that were all over this area.
Walking up to the Journey
Each of those stands has inspirational and facts about cancer.
About the middle of the main art.
I assume it had running water and or a fountain here at some point.
with family and friends!
This is Him right after he busted out of the Hospital.
Him on top of this classic car obviously many moons ago. ;)
Than to the hospital
This heart on the floor tells me where to turn.
More pictures from the hospital coming.
