Sanctuary Cove

Yesterday I finally got in some Exploring before it got really hot out.
I went just down the road to Sanctuary Cove A place I had read about months ago but just have not had the time when it was not 100+ outside to visit.
There was defiantly more to Explore here    But July in the desert means almost 100 outside before noon.
Seeing the above is now making me search for a very similar sight I have pictured on the beach line   in Bellingham Washington.
It was also huge and you could walk through it fully.
But the other of course had the ocean as a backdrop!
In Arizona we have tons of beaches  Just no water.

As usual my day started with Adventure Fuel.
Here is also a portion of my sticker collection.
Not usual was yesterday just happened to be my Birthday     so I snagged several free coffees.
And for whatever reason    Free always really does taste Betterer!

There are few things I enjoy more than Exploring a long dirt road
Especially a long twisty one
Or a set of railroad tracks on a hot summer day.

So many Trials
So little time!

I look pretty Darn good for just turning 88    right??
I try to add a picture of myself when Exploring---to prove I was there
And my vehicles        Because I have had a lot of vehicles and now realize I don't have any pictures at all of my first vehicle or several just after that.

Beautiful Church
I snapped lots of pictures of it.

I am always surprised at how different the plants are on each and every hike around this state.

And I have often wrote about how everything in the desert wants to hurt, kill harm  and or eat you!
Even the grass can be sharp here.

I guess if you get harmed here
you can just go to this church and pray for yourself.

Inside the great church.

One can barley make out the mountain range out the window.

Outdoor seating behind the building.

Further down the road I kept waiting for the BIG rain storm they were predicting.
Thinking that would be a perfect present for sure.
The sky got really dark early in the afternoon and the temperatures did drop soon.
Across town I did get rained on a little bit.

And the wind picked up really good at my house.
About 22 rain drops fell    and the storm went elsewhere.

But tonight
the skys opened up and it has been pouring rain for over an hour now.
Dumping rain actually!

  1. Awesome, the circular rock area strikes me as some sort of tribute/holy area and I see some sprits hanging around the old church
